Welcome All!

So I thought it might be nice to start a Blog. Ive thought about it several times, please bear with me as it morphs and grows into what it was meant to be. So, here goes nothing.



The Richard Family consists of Wife Jen, Husband Ben, and Daughter Ana. We are accompanied by two family Pets, Himiko our cat-dog, and Seven, the Goof Ball. We moved to Reynolds GA in Oct of 2010. Since our arrival, we have started a big garden, planted fruit trees, built a couple chicken coops, and recently started raising Mule Foot hogs.

 Our primary goal is to provide for ourselves as much as we can from our own property while supplementing what we cant from local sources...

 A little about us:
 Jen, is the Brains behind most of the daily operations of the family.....She is an amazing "stay at home mother". I can not sit here and list all of what she does....it would be several pages. I can Highlight a few. She Home schools Ana. She makes amazing cheese. She Caters. She provides us with Amazingly nourishing meals. She operates and plans the Gardens. And LOTS more.

 Ben, Works Fulltime off the property. He is an Aircraft Mechanic working at Robins AFB in Warner Robins. His primary functions include "Bringing home the Bacon", caring for the live bacon, and other Animals, Repairs around the property, Vehicle Maintenance, etc.

 Our Six year Old daughter Ana helps out ALOT. Maybe not as much as kids her age did in the "old days" But definitely more then most kids "nowadays". Currently, her chief responsibilities include the feeding and watering of the Dogs, Collecting Eggs, dumping the compost, putting away dishes, and general helping out......
